Call Admission Control : A Survey forE ective Bandwidth - Based Approach

چکیده
This report introduces two main categories of call admission control algorithms in integrated-services network, namely eeective bandwidth (EBW) approach and measurement-based admission control (MBAC). EBW is a dominant scheme for network resource management and admission control in broadband network environment. It determines the accommodation of new connection request by comparing the available bandwidth of the system with the sum of the eeective bandwidth of individual sources 12]. MBAC is one attractive control mechanism which emerged in recent years and received more and more attention 6]. For this approach, it requires no a priori speciication for the traac which the network is going to carry. Brief description for each algorithm is presented in this report, and advantages and disadvantages of the scheme are discussed.
